It was a perfect fall day in Hampton Virginia at Calvary Assembly of God where this momentous occasion was about to occur with this amazing and godly couple; Denae Ondra and Mark Stephens. This day would not only be the day that these two beautiful people would become one in the Lord, it would also be the day when they will always remember that they shared their very first kiss! This would occur immediately after the minister says, "Mark, you may now kiss your bride!" Goose bumps even as I type this. And what a first kiss it was! Not just one, but two, or maybe even three as memory serves! And the whole church cheered! It was truly heart-warming and beautiful. And for the rest of the day every time you looked at the bride or the groom there were big joyful smiles on their faces - when they weren't kissing, of course! (I really should put a few smiley faces here, but I will refrain!)
The bride looked exquisitely beautiful in her romantic, sparkling, sequined satin gown and chapel length train from David's Bridal. And her eight bridesmaids in their oh-so pretty rose-pink floor length gowns looked absolutely lovely!. After getting ready the bride shared a first look with her father and another with her step-father. And then finally. one with herself. That's right! A first look in the mirror with just her. Denae never once looked at herself as her hair and make-up and gown was put on her, so when she finally saw herself in the mirror of her long awaited day that she has prayed about for so many years, the joyful innocence of all those years burst forth in her emotions as she realized that her prince had finally come and this was the long-awaited day when she would be happily wed forever! Before the ceremony began her handsome groom arrived for a hand-holding, no peek prayer they shared together.
During the ceremony both father's walked the bride down the aisle together with Denae in the middle donning a jubilant ear to ear smile that adorned her face the whole ceremony and thereafter!
The festive reception was held at All Generations Church in Newport News VIrginia and ended with a very bubbly exit! It was truly a blessing to be a part of Denae and Marks' wedding day journey. The trip from Chattanooga/Cleveland Tennessee hometown to Hampton Virginia is a wonderful memory for us here at Sandra Clukey Photography LLC.
